Types of neurons
Multi ‘ polar constantly referring
Uni polar
Bi Polar
MULTI POLAR neuron com. In CNS mostly MOTOR neurons
One axon, TWO or MORE DENDRITES
One terminal end
Ex- ALL SOMATIC MOTOR NEURONS that control the SKELETAL Muscles
Bi polar neurons (rare)
2 PROCESSES each side of cell body
One axon, ONE DENDRITE
Found in the OLFACTORY EYE and in SMELL
Dendrites and axon on either ends both
Soma in middle
Uni Polar are SENSORY neurons of the pNS
Axon and Dendrites are FUSED
Dendrites with axon right next to end soma in middle
Before soma is PNS
After soma deals with CNS
Cell body closer to CNS
Only one process that connects both dendrites and terminal ‘ communication
PNS —- soma ——— CNS
INTERNEURONS
Are BRANCHED OUT of the types of Neurons
They lie BETWEEN sensory and motor neurons
RESPO. For picking up info from the sensory (uni polar), INTERPRETING , and then sending to MOTOR neurons (multi polar)
Efferent - sensory - uni
AFFERENT - motor - multi
(Extra step, middle men, interpreting, sometimes you need it sometimes you don’t)
Uni polar - int. - Multi polar
Sensory - int - motor response
Effector int to affector
