What is social influence?
Refers effects on a person's (thoughts/feelings/behaviours) caused by the (presence/actions) of others, which can be real or imagined.
What is a group?

What is meant by status in a group context?
The importance of an individual’s position in the group as perceived by other members.
What is power in the context of social influence?
The ability of an individual or group to control or influence the (thoughts/feelings/or behavior) of another person or group.
What is a role in social dynamics?
The behaviors adopted by an individual or assigned to them that influence how they function and act in different situations.
What are the types of social power?
(RECLIR) Reward, Expert, Coercive, Legitimate, Informative, Referent
What is Reward power?
The ability to give positive consequences or remove negative consequences in response to behavior.
What is Coercive power?
The ability to give negative consequences or remove positive consequences in response to specific behavior.
What is Legitimate power?
A individual’s status or position in an (group/institution/society) in general gives them the right to exercise power over those with a lower status or with less authority.
What is Referent power?
The influence one individual has over others because they are attracted to, respect, want to be like/liked by a person.
What is Expert power?
Influence derived from possessing knowledge or expertise that is desirable and needed.
What is Informational power?
Having access to information or resources that are useful and not available elsewhere.
