In Cindy Sherman's work
we see a woman with a briefcase on the side of the road either waiting for a ride or hitchhiking to some where. Whatever the reason, we are left to maybe worry about her situation, or relate to it in some way.

This work is of a garbage collector with the name of "Atlas".
Jean-Michel Basquiat, Lee Quinones, Banksy,
among others, went from illegal tagging, to formal applications of display. Basquiat lived on the streets of New York City and was taken in by people who saw his talent. He was a millionaire within a couple of years.
Quinones
used whole street cars as his canvas. He also went on to work in traditional ways and exhibited in galleries.
