What is the concept of the Changing of the Qiblah (Ayah 142)?

This happened when the Prophet sallahu alayhi wa sallam migrated to Madina, and for 16 months he prayed facing masjid Al Aqsa. After those months Allah changed the qibla to face the Ka’bah. The changing of the Qibla from Masjid al Aqsa to the Ka’bah showed that the previous Ummah (Bani Israel) had been replaced by the new Ummah (us) and the jews will have to decide to follow him or get led astray.

  • Keep the promises/pledges they make

  • Giving Charity (from what Allah has provided for us) to the needy, the poor, the orphans, relatives, travelers, beggars and for the freeing of captives. This is Infaaq / Zakah.

  • Fighting in the heat of battle (Jihad).

What is Zakah (the third pillar of Islam)?

Zakah purifies and increases your wealth. It decreases greed and increases reward. Zakah is to give 2.5% (1/40) of your ANNUAL savings.

(For example, if you saved up to £40 in a year, you give 2.5% of it which is £1. This is just an example because £40 does not reach the threshold of paying Zakah).
