Personal Area Network (PAN)

A network arranged around an individual.

Home Area Network (HAN)

A small network within a home environment.

Local Area Network (LAN)

A network that connects computers in a small area such as a school or office.

The Internet

A global network consisting of many different networks connected to each other.

Server

A powerful computer that provides shared resources to network users.

Synchronization

When changes are made to a file stored on your computer and in the cloud, the files will be updated to the latest version in both locations.

Streaming

To play a media file as you receive the data without downloading the complete file.

BYOD (Bring Your Own Device)

When companies/schools allow users to bring their own devices to connect to their network.
