Too little- linked to Parkinson's.
Norepinephrine
Our Fight or Flight neurotransmitter - Helps control alertness. Both neurotransmitter and hormone.
Serotonin
Helps regulate our mood. Too little can cause clinical depression.
Glutamate
Helps in with learning and forming new memories. Too much can cause headaches and seizures.
Endorphins
Our natural pain killers - these are released naturally during injury and vigorous exercise, help explain good feelings.
Acetylcholine
A neurotransmitter that helps in memory and also triggers muscle movement. Too little linked to Alzheimer's
GABA
Our natural tranquilizer - undersupply linked to epilepsy, and insomnia. Regulates anxiety - and calms us.
Substance P
A neurotransmitter that is involved in the transmission of pain messages to the brain.
