Adobe Camera raw Interface
An interface in which a raw photo can be edited before it is brought into Photoshop
Artboard
A canvas within a Photoshop document
Brush
A tool used to paint brush strokes of various types on a canvas
Color Picker
A tool used to choose an existing color on the screen to set the foreground or background color that can then be applied to an object or canvas
Document Preset
A combination of size color mode and bit depth set for a document template and easily reusable to add multiple files from one template
Eyedropper Tool
A tool used to choose or show the specifics of a color on the screen
Gradient
A block of multiple colors that fade into each other and are used to blend with an object or a canvas
Grid
A set of horizontal and vertical lines used to help align objects on a canvas
Guides
A horizontal or vertical line that when added to a canvas provides a point of reference for objects that need to be snapped or aligned to a specific spot on the canvas
Guide Layout
A combination of guides and a grid on a canvas
Hexadecimal Value
A measurement used to define color using numbers and letters to determine the amount of red green and blue for a specific color
Value
The amount of lightness or darkness in a color
Linear Gradient
A gradient that moves in a line from one color to the next
Menu
A list of options for performing actions on a file
Options Bar
A contextual bar across the top of the Photoshop screen containing options for whichever tool is selected from the Toolbar
Orientation
The direction of a canvas portrait or landscape
Pan
The act of using the hand tool to move around a document and focus on a specific part
Panel
A box containing options for a specific need such as layers color swatches and brushes
Pattern
A repeated design or object used as a background or for image or shape fill
Place Embedded
The act of embedding a file onto a canvas as it is added to the canvas The file will not update if the original copy of the file is updated
Place Linked
The act of linking a file when adding to a canvas giving an option to update the file on the canvas if the original copy is updated
Radial Gradient
A gradient that starts with one color in the center of the gradient and moves to another color around it
Raw File
A photo in its original format on the camera without the photo was taken
Scratch Disk
A disk that is used to store temporary RAM for when RAM is used up on a device while Photoshop is running
Slice
A piece of an image that is used for a link to a webpage
Styles
A predefined effect used to enhance a photo or set a background for a photo
Swatch
A defined color then based off an industry standard for colors
Toolbar
A bar containing tools that perform actions on a file or objects within a file
Transparency
A piece of a gradient where the gradient changes colors
Stop
A form of measurement such as for pixel point inch or centimeter
Unit
A desktop setting that shows specific panels and bars that can be used such that people can have a consistent look for the Photoshop interface
Workspace
The act of magnifying part of a canvas or work on that part of the canvas
Zoom
The act of magnifying part of a canvas or work on that part of the canva
