Brain and spinal cord, processing center.
periferal nervous system
Nerves outside the brain and spinal cord that connect the central nervous system to the limbs and organs.
somatic nervous system
The part of the peripheral nervous system responsible for voluntary movements, controlling skeletal muscles.
autonomic nervous system
the part of the peripheral nervous system responsible for automatic movements, like heartbeat and digestion.
Sympathetic nervous system
the part of the autonomic nervous system responsible for stress responses such as fight or flight.It activates the body’s resources to respond to perceived threats, increasing heart rate and energy availability.
parasympathetic nervous system
the part of the autonomic nervous system that conserves energy and promotes rest and relaxation. It slows down the heart rate and increases digestion.
