an extension of kinship by oath
The Adamic Covenant
Promise: Models for us what union with God looks like: we will witness this again in the New Covenant
The Noahic Covenant
Promise: Another new covenant that will bring us back into union with God like we were in Eden
The Abrahamic Covenant
Promise: Great Nation (15), Great Name (17), Great Blessing (22)
The Mosaic Covenant
Promise: Jesus will fulfill the law and become the Passover Lamb (It fulfills the Great Nation promise from the Abrahamic Covenant)
The Davidic Covenant
Promise: The Messiah will come from the royal name of David. (It fulfills the Great Name promise from the Abrahamic Covenant)
The Prophetic Covenant
Promise: The new covenant in Christ
The New Covenant
Fulfills: Adamic (Restores our union with the Father), Noahic (the first New Covenant to save us from sin), Abrahamic, Mosaic (Jesus fulfills the Jewish Law and becomes the new Passover Lamb), Davidic (Jesus is the Messiah from the royal line of David), and Prophetic (Jesus is the fulfillment of all Messianic prophecies)

What is the Allegorical Sense of Scripture?
Looks for a deeper, symbolic meaning, connects the narratives of the Old Testament to the New Testament (EX: certain figures or events are seen as prefigurations of Christ or the Church)
What is the Moral Sense of Scripture?
Shows the meaning or lesson of the passage, considers how the teachings in the text can be applied to moral living and personal conduct
What is the Anagogical Sense of Scripture?
Interpretation that looks forward to the eschatological (the end times) implications of the messages found in biblical texts, emphasizes the hope of Heaven and Divine fulfillment
What is typology?
something/someone in the Old Testament that represents or symbolizes something/someone in the New Testament
