Shadow
A dark shape made when an object blocks light.
Opaque
A solid object that doesn’t let light go through it.
Translucent
An object that lets some light through but you can't see it properly.
Transparent
Able to see fully; does not create a shadow.
Reflection
When light bounces off surfaces, such as a mirror.
Refraction
The bending of light as it passes through materials like water or glass.
Absorption
When light gets soaked up by a material; dark colors soak up more light.
Transmission
The passage of light through a material, like glass.
Manipulating light
Changing how light moves, bends, or shines.
Factors affecting shadow size
Proximity to the light (closer=larger, farther=smaller) and brightness (low brightness=long shadow, high brightness=short shadow).
