Deviance
Behavior that violates the standards of conduct or expectations of a group or society.
Stigma
The labels society uses to devalue members of certain social groups.
Social Control

Sanctions

Anomie
A state of normlessness that occurs during a period of profound social change and disorder.

A viewpoint that sees deviance as a common part of human existence that helps define the limits of proper behavior.
Conflict Perspective
A viewpoint that indicates people with power protect their own interests and define deviance to suit their own needs.
Feminist Perspective
An approach suggesting existing theories of deviance and crime were developed with only men in mind.
