• im hard working and have a strong work ethic

• I want to learn new things and have the initiative to go above and beyond

• I am good at problem solving and am adaptable in various situations

what interests you about this company?

• that you guys work in a variety of different areas - not just in say remedial or strucutral

• not a large tier 1 or tier 2 company, so it’s better for learning and collaboration

what’s your most succesful engineering project

interdisciplinary project - designing a snake fence

• got to work with other engineering streams, not just civil

• the group worked well and we were able to come up with a creative idea which incorporated teflon and other deisgn aspects to tackle the problem

how do you handle challenging situations

• stay calm and composed

• look at the facts

  • make a plan on how to tackle the situation and go from there

what do i like about engineering?

• being able to solve problems - and solve the unknown

  • finding out solutions to problems that we may not currently know the answer to

• the mathematics component

why should we hire you?

• i work hard and am reliable

• i am a good communicator

• i have initiative to do things, or try to help out without being asked to - which I would surprisingly say is a quality I have gained from working with my parents. because you know them, you can tell they expect things in a certain way so making sure things are done in that way prevents conflict

where do you see yourself in 5 years?

• i want to hopefully be a junior in the company, being able to handle more complex tasks

  • for my supervisors to have the trust and confidence that i can do difficult things with ease, or minimal support

how do you handle failure?

• similar to challenging situations

• stay calm and look at it as a learning opportunity

• not to get hung up over the negativity, but think about how i can grow and improve from the mistakes i made
