Transverse wave
A wave that vibrates perpendicular to the direction of the wave.
Longitudinal wave
A wave that vibrates parallel to the direction of the wave.
Amplitude
The distance from the peak to the middle of a wave.
Wavelength
The length of a wave.
Frequency
The number of occurrences of a wave in a second, measured in Hertz per second.
Speed of a wave equation
speed = frequency x wavelength.
Refractive angle
The angle that must be the same as the incident angle for light waves.
