the theory of knowledge, especially with regard to its method validy, amd scope. It’s the investgation of what distinguishes justified from opinion

The scientific method

• obseravtion —> gathering data

• logic/ initution —> constructing theories

what is social science?

• systematic and verifiable observations of people using logical reasoning

• includes dyadic interaction (one 2 one interaction, group interaction, mediated interactions= connect through zoom, social networks, and organizations, entire nations and more)

What can science tell us? (three things)

1. explanation = “why it is is” & understaning patterns

2. description = “what is”

3. prediction = “what will be” & predict outcomes given certain factors= Ex. People were reacting positively or negatively with relationships online
