What are students expected to do regarding honesty in their dealings with clients and staff, both in the field and at the College?
Students will be honest in their dealings with clients and staff, both in the field and at the College.
What is required regarding respect for clients and co-workers, and what conduct is not tolerated?
Show respect for clients and co-workers; instances of abuse, endangerment, harassment or ridiculing of others will not be tolerated.
What are the confidentiality requirements and what act governs disclosure of personal information?
Respect the confidentiality of clients, individuals and organizations in the classroom and in the field; disclosure of personal information without written permission may violate FOIPPA.
When should students not attend field placement and what laws could violations involve?
Do not attend field placement while under the influence of or in possession of alcohol or drugs; illegal use and possession may violate the Liquor License Act of Ontario, the Criminal Code of Canada, and/or the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
What are expectations regarding relationships with clients?
Maintain professional relationships with clients at all times; personal, social or intimate relations with a client conflict with student responsibilities and professional ethics and codes of conduct and are therefore unacceptable.
