AC Circuit
A circuit that is energized using an alternating source, where the magnitude and direction of current and voltages change regularly.
Alternating Current (AC)
Electric current that reverses its direction periodically.
Star Connection
A method of connecting the end of coils in common in a three-phase electrical system.
Phases (in electrical systems)
Refers to the separate alternating currents that are phase-shifted to work together, typically represented as R, Y, and B.
Generator Stator
The stationary part of a generator that creates a magnetic field for power generation.
Load Distribution
The process of distributing electrical power among various consumers or systems.
Motor Rating
Specifications that detail the operational output and efficiency of a motor.
Electrical Efficiency (Effcy)
A measure of how effectively the input power is converted into useful output power in a system.
Dimetrically Opposite Coils
Coils in a generator stator configuration that are spaced evenly across the magnetic field.
Salient Poles
Poles that stick out from the surface of a stator, often used in the construction of generators.
