range of processes that help move QD thats been collected into some form of explanation or interpretation of ppl and situations we’re investigating

What is semiotic analysis?
analysing signs and symbols

What are naturalised transcripts? (2)
corresponds to the thorough tr of what is said and how it is said

prioritises verbal speech and focuses on the omission of idiosyncratic speech elements sa stutters and pauses

What is first cycle coding?
portion of data to be coded can range in magnitude from a single word to a full para to entire page of text
What is second cycle coding?
portions coded can be exact same units, longer passages, analytic memos about data and even a reconfiguration of codes themselves developed this far

code directly taken from what pp himself says and is placed in quotation marks
