define primary data

information collected directly from the source from the researcher

information that was not collected directly by the current researcher but was collected at an earlier time by someone else

a decision about what the results from an investigation mean

a decision about how widely the results of an investigation can be applied, particularly to other members of the population

Define self reports

participants answers to the questions presented by the researcher

what are the limitations and benefits of self reports

efficient means of collecting data, can collect a large number of data in a short amount of time. However relies on the individuals self awareness and honesty.

define population

the entire group of research interest from which a sample is drawn and to which the researcher will wish to apply the results of their investigation

the subset or part of the population that is picked for research purposes
