What is interdependence?
All organisms in an ecosystem depend on each other
Examples of how organisms are dependent on each other
Birds take shelter and build their nests in trees, bees pollinate flowers
In the food chain grass - rabbit - fox, how would killing the foxes affect the food chain?
The numbers of rabbits would increase as they no longer face being eaten by foxes. This would cause the amount of grass to decrease since more rabbits are eating it
What is a stable community?
One in which all of the biotic and abiotic factors are in balance, and the size of the populations of all species remain relatively constant over time.
What do plants compete for?
Light, space, water and minerals from soil
What do animals compete for?
Food, mates and territory
