Quantitative Research
testing objective theories by examining the relationship among variable; hypothesized, interpreted as relations
Mixed Approach
involves collecting both Qualitative and Quantitative data, and integrating the two forms of data
Conceptualization Phase
A phase in the research process where topic is identified, propose literature reviews, and identifying the ‘Central Question’
Design Phase
A phase in the research process where researcher decide on the detailed procedures in gathering and analyzing data; how, where, and when the study will be conducted and analyzed
Empirical Phase
A phase in the research process where data is gathered and collected; in qualitative studies, respondents are also known as key informants or coresearchers; interviews and focus group discussions (FGD) are commonly employed with the use of the interview guides or ‘Aide Memoire’
Analytical Phase
A phase in the research process where data is prepared and assessed through the use of tools and the researchers’ own understanding as supported by his belief and previous researches published in the same area of interest
Analytical Phase in Qualitative Studies
A phase in the research process where interviews texts are being delimited to manageable statement and thematized; a model (or Simulacrum) is being produced to summarize an understanding of the these in the study
Dissemination Phase
A phase in the research process that is the most valuable; results are advised to be shared to the general public if not on the specific population or professional groups that can benefit from its result
Research Manuscripts
A phase in the research process where the final output is produced written and/or soft copy file form; follows specific research content guidelines and format

A type of Qualitative Research that is the in-depth analysis of a single entity or a small group; seeks to understand and answer question why such situation occurred; often used in psychology, sociology, and nursing
Narrative Analysis
A type of Qualitative Research that focused on a specific story as the subject matter of inquiry; how individuals make sense of a particular event in their lives by constructing, reconstructing, and narrating stories
Grounded Theory
A type of Qualitative Research that generate a comprehensive explanation of a phenomenon grounded in reality; seeks to understand actions by discovering the problems and the person’s behavior on resolving a problem.
