Sexual Reproduction Advantages

• Produces variation in offspring

• Selective Breeding

Sexual reproduction disadvantages

• Two parents required

• Time consuming and costs energy → less offspring produced in life time

Asexual Reproduction advantages

• Only 1 parent needed

• Uses less energy

• Faster process

• In fabourable conditions identicle offspring can be produced

Asexual reproduction disadvantages

• Organisms produced have shorter life span

• Hard to control the increasing population

• Limited diversity in offspring

• Since the offspring produced is a clone, any harmful mutation will also pass onto the offspring
