“Bleed the French White”
A tactic used by German General Falkenhayn, wanted to wear the French down by sending their men out to constantly fight them until they lost a majority of their army. This tactic was partially successful because they did lose men, but so did the Germans. This tactic caused the stalemate to end.
Schlieffen Plan
plan was to win a two front war, quickly defeat France then turn around and defeat Russia. The plan fails because Belgium refuses to let Germany through.
Austria wanted punish Serbia, wanted no officials to investigate the murder Ferdinand because it was an easy way to gain control over Serbia. This ended all anti-Austria activity and allowed investigations on the assassination, Serbia wants to negotiate but Austria refuses.
