coronary arteries provide the muscle of the heart with oxygen and nutrients for respiration (aerobic respiration) for the energy to be used in respiration

coronary heart disease

this happens when the coronary arteries which supply blood to the heart muscle start to get blocked by the build up of fatty deposit. which causes the lumen of the arteries to become narrower and less blood will flow through so less oxygen reaches the heart which can lead to a heart attack.
