Genesis 11:

  • God called Noah and his offspring in Gen 9 to be increased greatly on the earth and multiple it

  • the people in Gen 11 all spoke the same language and migrated east together

  • there they had the idea to build a great city and a great name for themselves “lest they be dispersed”

  • God saw the potential for great evil in this

  • he confused their languages so they could not all understand each other anymore and dispersed them all across the earth
