Number in front of the radical and radicand of both are multiplied together; Index does not change

What happens when you divide radicals?

Make the problem into a fraction, put the whole fraction under one radical, then simplify what's inside

Product of Powers

Exponents are added when multiplying exponents with the same base

Power of power

When something in parentheses is raised to an exponent, distribute the exponent and multiply any existing exponents by the one outside the parentheses

Quotient of Powers

Subtract the exponent on the bottom from the exponent on the top (Make sure they have the same base!)

Zero exponent

Zero exponents always equal 1

Negative Exponent

Make the exponent positive then put it below 1 in a fraction

Number on top of a fractional exponent

Number on top of the fractional exponent is the exponent of the value inside the radical
