Explain how diagnosis-related groups are used to control the cost of health care?
this system takes a patient's diagnosis, and the hospital is reimbursed a predetermined amount of money based on the diagnosis. If a patient is discharged without using all of the allocated money the hospital will keep remainder amount of money. this in turn pushes for discharges.
