What is a shadow?
A dark shape made when an object blocks light.
How are shadows formed?
Shadows are formed when light travels in straight lines and is blocked by an object.
What are opaque materials?
Opaque materials block all light and create a dark shadow.
What do translucent materials do?
Translucent materials let some light through, creating a faint shadow.
What are transparent materials?
Transparent materials let all light through, resulting in no shadow.
What happens to a shadow when the object is closer to the light?
The shadow becomes bigger.
What happens to a shadow when the object is further from the light?
The shadow becomes smaller.
What effect does low light have on a shadow?
Low light creates a long shadow.
What effect does high light have on a shadow?
High light creates a short shadow.
What does manipulating light mean?
Changing how light behaves.
What is reflection in terms of light?
When light bounces off surfaces like mirrors.
What is refraction?
It is when light bends as it passes through water or glass.
What does blocking light do?
Blocking light creates shadows.
What is absorption in relation to light?
Absorption is when light is soaked up; dark colors absorb more light.
What is transmission?
Transmission is when light passes through a material, like glass.
