In the function values without x = the value, and values with an x or divided by an x = 0, if the whole function is divided by x then you divide all the values between the biggest x exponent to cancel them out.

this means that there is a vertical asyntote at that x point, so to determine whether there is or not a limit, so you plug values first from the left, and then the right, if the values vary a lot and give +infinity and -infinity the case is that the limit does not exist

When is a function continuous?
when f(a)= defined so not 0/0 or any value /0, when the limit from the left and the right es equal, the limit exists, and finally when f(a) = f(x) which are the values in the second step (if they are the same like: a = 3 and f(x) values from the left and right are: 3.001 and 2.099 so they approch 3, meaning that f(a) = 3 and f(x) = 3 so it is continuous.

when the denominator = 0 or in a piecewise function where there isn't a denominator find the values if they match it is continuous if not discontinuous in the value of x given.
