Prejudice

An unfair and usually negative attitude toward a group.

Stereotype

A generalized belief about a group (sometimes true but often overgeneralized).

Discrimination

Unfair negative behavior toward a group.

Just-world phenomenon

The belief that people get what they deserve and deserve what they get.

Ingroup

“Us,” the group we belong to.

Outgroup

“Them,” a group seen as different from ours.

Ingroup bias

Favoring our own group over others.

Aggression

Behavior meant to harm someone physically or emotionally.

Frustration-aggression principle

Frustration (being blocked from a goal) leads to anger, which can lead to aggression.
