Explain how the virtues relate to the USAF and Core Values (SOB 1)

-The bedrock of leadership that provides principles of conduct, and a moral

framework.

-The virtues serve as desired behaviors and characteristics that can help demonstrate the core values, while practicing habits of honorable thought and action.

Describe ‘Integrity First’ (SOB 2)

-The single most important part of character, which is doing the right thing all the time.

-A moral compass.

List and define the 4 components of ‘Integrity First’ (SOB 2)

i. Honest

1. The only way to preserve trust we hold so dear

ii. Courage

1. Willingness to take personal and professional risks, make decisions that may be unpopular, and to admit to our mistakes

iii. Accountability

1. Maintain transparency, seek honest and constructive feedback and take ownership of actions and decisions

iv. Humility

1. Service with gratitude and absent arrogance, putting others before ourselves as we seek to add value to our communities

Describe ‘Service Before Self’ (SOB 2)

-Professional duties take precedence over personal

desires.

-Called to live to a higher standard, with a servant mindset.

-Commitment takes energy, dedication and sacrifice while embracing

expectations and requirements of the profession of arms.

1. Consistently choosing to make necessary sacrifices to

accomplish the mission while honoring those who make the

ultimate sacrifice

1. Treating others with dignity and valuing them as individuals

-Does not mean perfection.

Discuss the importance of the USAF and USSF Core Values to Airmen and

Guardians (SOB 3)

Without the core values and commitments, we do not have a unifying set of

principles with which to live our lives and direct our career in the profession

of arms with.
