Navigation Acts
A way to achieve mercantilism and an attempt to get favorable balance of trade. Boosts colonial economy by making all foreign products go to England before distributed to colonies and also created enumerated articles
French and Indian War
A 9 year war between England and France for control over the Ohio River Valley
William Pitt
An English man who wins and changes the goal of the French and Indian War to getting the French out of the US to avoid more conflict while also making changes like creating merit
Fort Necessity
The fort built by George Washington and his men to shelter from the angry french who they angered by entering french claimed land

Treaty that ends French and Indian war where the French give up all North American territory (all but Haiti), but causes conflict due to not being ran by the Native Americans

New Lights/Old Lights
The New Lights (younger people) supported the revival of religion and believed faith was an inner connection with a personal, emotional relationship with God. The Old Lights (older people) opposed the revival and believed religion should be based on reason
Wool Act and Iron Act
Were acts that controlled the production of wool and Iron. Allowed colonies to make raw iron but not do anything with it and allowed people to make wool but not sell it
