What is a girdle in anatomy
A girdle refers to a bony structure that connects the limbs to the axial skeleton and provides support and mobility
What is the function of the girdle?
To facilitate movement while maintaining stability and support
The function is to connect the lower limbs to the axial skeleton at the sacroiliac joint, Provides stability and protects important organs
What bones make up the’Pectural Girdle
Clavicle and Scapula
A long S-shape bone that runs between the sternum (breast bone) and the scapula
Clavicle (Collarbone)
A flat triangle- shaped bone located on the upper back
