Reaction Rates
Reaction rates: the speed at which a reaction occurs over a given time interval
know the formula
Observing Chemical Reactions
We can measure the rate of reaction by observing the concentration of the reactant and products over time
Average Reaction Rates
Average rate of reaction: the change in concentration of a reactant or product per unit time over a given time interval.
Calculated using the slope of the reaction:
m=y2−y1/x2−x1
It should be calculated from each end point
Instantaneous Reaction Rate:
The rate of a chemical reaction at a particular point in time.
Calculated using the tangent line to the curve at that point and finding its slope.
