Origin: proximal third of clavicle

Insertion: lateral lip of intertubercular groove

Coracobrachialis

Action: flexion, adduction

Origin: coracoid process

Insertion: medial surface of humerus mid shaft

Biceps (short head)

Action: flexion

Origin: coracoid process

Insertion: radial tuberosity

Posterior Deltoid

Action: extension, horizontal abduction, abduction

Origin: spine of the scapula

Insertion: deltoid tuberosity

Triceps

Action: extension

Origin: infraglenoid fossa

Insertion: olecranon process

Supraspinatus

Action: abduction

Origin: supraspinous fossa

Insertion: greater tuberosity of humerus

Middle Deltoid

Action: abduction

Origin: acromion

Insertion: deltoid tuberosity

Latissimus Dorsi

Action: adduction, extension, internal rotation

Origin: spinus process T7-L5, posterior sacrum, iliac spine, posterior side of ribs 10-12

Insertion: anterior medial side humerus just inferior to inter groove

Teres major

Action: adduction, extension, internal rotation

Origin: inferior angle of scapula

Insertion: medial lip of inter groove

Infraspinatus

Action: external rotation, horizontal abduction

Origin: infraspinous fossa

Insertion: greater tuberosity of humerus

Teres minor

Action: external rotation, horizontal abduction

Origin: subscapular fossa

Insertion: lesser tuberosity of humerus

Subscapularis

Action: internal rotation

Origin: subscapular fossa

insertion: lesser tuberosity of humerus

What are the flexors of the shoulder?

anterior deltoid, pectoralis major, coracobrachialis, biceps short head

What are the extensors of the shoulder?

posterior deltoid, triceps

What are the abductors of the shoulder?

supraspinatus, middle deltoid

What are the adductors for the shoulder?

latissimus dorsi, teres major

What are the external rotators for the shoulder?

infraspinatus, teres minor

What are the internal rotators for the shoulder?

subscapularis, teres major

What are the horizontal adductors for the shoulder?

Biceps Brachii

Action: flexion, supination

Origin: long head super glenoid fossa, short head coracoid process

Insertion: radial tuberosity

Brachialis

Action: flexion

Origin: anterior side of distal half of humerus

Insertion: coronoid process and ulnar tuberosity

Brachioradialis

Action: flexion

Origin: lateral supracondylar ridge of humerus

Insertion: styloid process of radius

Pronator Teres

Action: pronation

Origin: medial epicondyle of humerus & coracoid process

Insertion: lateral side of mid radial diaphysis

Pronator Quadratus

Action: pronation

Origin: distal ¼ of anterior ulna

Insertion: distal ¼ of anterior radius

Supinator

Action: supination

Origin: lateral epicondyle of humerus, just inferior to radial notch of ulna

Insertion: anterolateral side of proximal 1/3 radius

What are the flexors of the elbow?

biceps brachii, brachialis, brachioradialis

What are the extensors for elbow?

triceps

What are the pronators for elbow?

pronator teres, pronator quadratus

What are the supinators for elbow?
