Arson
The willful and malicious burning of property for illegal purposes.
Explosives

Low Explosive
An explosive that burns rather than explodes, often used in confined areas.
High Explosive
Explosives that detonate with a shock wave and include primary and secondary types.
Ignitable fluids
Commonly used accelerants in arson investigations.
Detonating cord
A cord-like explosive used to set off charges simultaneously.
Ammonium Nitrate
A common fertilizer that can be used as an explosive when combined with other materials.
Binary explosives
Explosives formed by mixing two nonexplosive chemicals.
TATP
A peroxide-based explosive known for being easy to improvise.
Bomb scene investigations
The process of analyzing the site of a bomb explosion for evidence and determining the nature of the event.
