Human Transplantation Act (2013)

What does this act do?

Allows consent to decide or goes donation to be deemed to have been given when a person lived and died in wales .

Who does it apply to?

• people who lived in wales for greater than 12 months

• Who are over 18

Who does it not apply to?

• people under 18

• An adult who has lived in Aber less than12 months

• An adult who has lived here but is not an ordinary resident

  • Eg. Army or prisoner

• An adult who lack capacity and wouldn’t understand deemed consent

• They made a choice about organ donation in life

• They have appointed someone to make a choice / relative objects

What does this ac not do?

It does not make changes to consent for the living

Requirement people to record there choice

What is deemed consent ?

Allows organ donation consent to be deemed when there is no decitons on organ donation unless specified by a relative

• Family and friends
