What is Equality and Education?

1. same resources and opportunities (funding, material, facilities, instruction)

2. Equal education: right to education as individual right regardless differences

3. same access to high quality education

4. equality between genders reduce disparities

What is equality in education?

1. students get same level of (Ada Rasa Otak) attention, resources and opportunities

What is equity in education?

1. equal opportunities are adjusted for students from diff backgrounds who might need extra help and attention

What is lack of equality in education?

1. lines are drawn based on class and race, resources are more abundant for students from wealthier, color students achieve lower educational outcomes.

What is Freedom and Education

1. opportunity to speak, act and pursue happiness without restrictions.

2. to enhanced expressions creativity and original thoughts, increased productivity, and overall high quality of life.

3. education shall be directed to develop human personality and strengthen respect for human rights and freedom.

4. if we are educated, we can do it with confidence and exactness

5. teachers: actively involved in the process of self-actualization that promotes their own well-being if they are to teach in a manner that empower students.

6. academic freedom: no beliefs should be imposed on students and faculty

7. education is associated with freedom. Without education, it would be hard to achieve freedom.

8. freedom will give skills to liberate from scourge of poverty.

What is Democracy and Education?

1. democratic education: teachers and learners work together as equals

2. aims to empower students to exercise self-determination in terms of their education

3. students choose what and how they will study

4. democracy need to:

   • educated citizens

   • shape education itself

5. democracy enhances educational enrollment and years of schooling

Democratic Education

1. universal and compulsory education
