Name the 4 Animals tissues

Muscle tissue

Muscle cells have the ability to contract and relax

Eg. Cardiac, skeletal, smooth

Nervous tissue

Is composed of nerve cells called neurons which are long cells able to carry electrical impulses around the body

Epithelial tissue

A single layer of cells that cover the inner and outer surfaces of organs - they protect and allow diffusion

Eg. Lining of lungs and digestive system, outer layer of skin

Connective tissue

Binds, supports and cushions other tissues

Eg. Bones, blood, cartilage and adipose tissue (fat layer under skin)
