Longitudinal Method
A research method that measures changes in motor behavior in the same individuals over time.
Cross-Sectional Method
A research method that compares different age groups at one time to measure age differences.
Chronological Age
Ones age measured in months, years, and days.
Biological Age
The rate of progress towards maturity, indicating how developed an individual is biologically.
Morphological Age
A comparison of attained size to normative standards, often measured in height and weight.
Skeletal Age
Determined by examining the carpel bones of the wrist and hand to record biological age.
Dental Age
A measure to determine biological age based on the development of teeth.
Sexual Age
The attainment of sexual characteristics and assessed using Tanner stages.
Mental Age
A complex measure of an individual's mental potential which can fluctuate over time.

Encompasses processes of change, stabilization, and regression in physical structure and neuromuscular function.
COGNITIVE DOMAIN
Involves the study of the functional relationship between mind and body in the context of movement.
AFFECTIVE DOMAIN
Involves the study of feelings and emotions related to self and others through movement.
