Sent a small army under William Parr (Marquis of Northampton) to Norwich- offered pardons again, but instead of diffusing situation, made it worse

Gvmt Commissions issued and militia raised, including mercenaries, 12000 led by Northumberland (E of Warwick at this point), arrived in Norwich 23rd Aug

26th Aug, he abandoned fortifications on top of Mousehold Heath, 27th Aug 3000 rebels slaughtered and Ket arrested

How was it effective for Northumberland?

He dealt leniently and fairly with the rebels-only 49 executions, all tried in accordance with the law
