What is Light?

Reflection of light

The bouncing back of rays of light from a polished and shiny surface is called reflection of light. Reflection is one of the unique properties of light. It is the reflection of light ,which enables us to see any object.

Laws of Reflection of Light:-

i] The angle of incidence is equal to the angle of reflection <i=<r.

ii] The incidence ray, reflected ray and the normal to the mirror at the point of incidence all lie on the same plane.

Properties of the image formed in a plane mirror:-

1. Image is always virtual and errect

2. Object size=Image size

3. Object distance=Image distance

4. Image formed is laterally inverted.
