CRITIQUE
An in-depth evaluation of a story, novel, film, etc. for the purpose of giving its reading public an insight into the material.
Setting
How well was the it developed? Does it appeal to more than one of the senses? Does it inform or connect to other aspects of the story such as character development and narrative style?
Characterization
It focuses on the readers (or audience) and their experience of a literary work.
Introduction
Mention the name of the author and the title of the work.
Give a summary, including a description, background or context of the work.
Indicate the elements you want to examine and state the purpose of your critique.
Body
Give a systematic and detailed assessment of the different elements of the work, but make sure your discussion and judgement will be supported by specific details such as quotations or examples from the work itself.
Conclusion
State your overall assessment of the story`s value, worth, and significance (both positive and negative).
Give recommendations for improvement if necessary.
