The three C’s of emergency care

Check- check the person and look at the situation

Call- call 911

Care- give first aid but beige ask the persons guardian or parent

Name 3 universal precautions

1. use gloves

2. use goggles

3. wash hands

First aid for bleeding

1. apply pressure

2. make sure wound is above heart

3. keep injured person calm

4. lay the person on the ground carefully

5. make sure they are elevated so they do not choke

6. wait for the medical professionals

Abrasions

A scrape or a brush burn, wearing off of the skin

Lacerations

A deep cut or a tear in the skin

Punctures

A cut made by a small sharp object that goes through the skin and tissue

Avulsions

A forceful tear in a body part

Ex: tearing off an ear or finger

Controlling bleeding

1. apply pressure

4. use bandage
