Paul Fréart de Chantelou, Diary of the Cavaliere Bernini’s Visit to France [in 1665]. Ludovic Lalanne discovered a manuscript copy of Chantelou’s diary in the library of the Institut de France and published a transcript as a series of articles in the Gazette des Beaux-Arts from 1877-1884. The English translation was completed by Margery Corbett Ashby and published in 1985.
