Bertram Kates, I hereby sentence you to-
drummond- Your honor! A question of procedure

drummond- is it not customary in the state to allow the defendant to make a statement before sentences past
Colonel Drummond, I regret this omission and the confusion and that I neglected- Uh Mr. Cates, if you wish to make any statement before the sentence is passed on to you, why, you may proceed.
Cates-I have been convicted of violating an unjust law. I will continue in the future as I have in the past with pose the law in anyway I can.
Bertram Cates, the court has found you guilty of violating public act volume 37 statute number 31428 as charged. This violation is punishable by fine and or imprisonment.
There has been no previous violation of this statute. There is no precedent to guide the bench in passing sentence..
The court deems it proper to pay a fine of $100.
brady-did your honor say $100
That is correct. This seems to conclude the business of the trial.
drummond-we will appeal this decision to the Supreme Court of the state with the court grant 30 days to prepare our appeal
granted, the court fixes bond at $500 I believe this concludes the business of this trial therefore, I declared this court is adjourned-
brady-but I have a few remarks
