New cards

Agree

  1. Local government - they had scope (new JP’s, new Lord Lt’s) but it wasnt overly successful as there were still local issues - eg. Cornwall

  2. Star Chamber - used it to try and limit noble power but scope was limited as rarely used and was highly controversial, e.g., caused distrust among nobles/government towards Henry VII

3
New cards

Disagree

  1. Moved the exchequer to his chambers in order to control his finances by himself

  2. Council-learned-in-the-law: massively changed the landscape for the nobility, gave Henry great power, massively helped with finance, secured Henry’s position as feudal landlord, etc.
