Major Depressive Disorder (MDD)

A mood disorder characterized by one or more depressive episodes.

Persistent Depressive Disorder (Dysthymia)

A chronic form of depression lasting at least 2 years, with fewer symptoms than MDD.

Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD)

Severe mood symptoms occurring before menstruation, improving after onset.

Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder (DMDD)

Diagnosis in children (ages 6-18) characterized by frequent temper outbursts.

Bipolar I Disorder

A mood disorder requiring at least one manic episode, which may include depressive episodes.

Bipolar II Disorder

A mood disorder consisting of at least one hypomanic episode and one major depressive episode.

Cyclothymic Disorder

Chronic mood fluctuations involving hypomanic and depressive symptoms for 2 or more years.

Suicidal Ideation

Thoughts of death or self-harm.

Cognitive Distortions

Negative thought patterns that contribute to depressive feelings.

Anhedonia

Marked loss of interest or pleasure in most activities.
