Ethics
An individual's beliefs about whether a behavior, action, or decision is right or wrong.
Managerial ethics
Guiding principles that govern the behavior of managers in their interactions with employees and other organizations.
Conflict of interest disclosure
A formal statement made by an employee indicating potential conflicts between personal interests and professional obligations.
Distributive justice
The perceived fairness regarding how rewards are distributed among individuals.
Procedural justice
The perceived fairness of the processes used to determine outcomes within an organization.
Interpersonal justice
The fairness perceived based on how individuals are treated by others within the organization.
Informational justice
The perceived fairness of the information used to make decisions within the organization.
Corporate governance
The system by which companies are directed and controlled, including the roles of stakeholders and board of directors.
Whistleblowing
The act of reporting unethical or illegal activities within an organization, often involving the release of confidential information.
Social responsibility
The obligation of an organization to behave ethically and contribute positively to society.
Obstructionist approach
An organizational stance where minimal effort is made to comply with social responsibilities.
Proactive approach
An organizational approach that actively seeks opportunities to contribute to the welfare of society and the environment.
Corporate social audit
A formal analysis assessing the effectiveness of an organization's social performance and commitment.
Legal vs. Ethical behavior
The examination of how legal actions may not always be ethical and vice versa.
