What are the 3 main denominations of Christianity?
The three main denominations of Christianity are Catholicism , Protestantism, and Orthodoxy.
What are some of God’s attributes?
Some of God's attributes include omnipotence, omniscience, omnibenevolence and omnipresence.
What is the Holy Trinity and what does it mean?
The Holy Trinity refers to the Christian belief in one God existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. This doctrine emphasizes the unity and co-equality of these three distinct persons within the Godhead.
What is the belief about Creation?
God created the universe in six days and rested on the seventh. However it is argued whether these are actual days are a metaphorical sense of time. “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” Genesis.
However, in the New Testament it begins with saying “In the beginning there was the Word” where the word is said to be Jesus Christ, showing how the Holy Trinity created the universe.
What is Incarnation in Christianity?
It is when Jesus was born, and how this was when God took on a human form and became flesh by becoming the son as part of the Holy Trinity.
What is the Crucifixion?
The execution and death of Jesus on Good Friday. It is a central event in Christianity, symbolizing the sacrifice of Jesus for humanity's sins and leading to the resurrection.
What is the Resurrection?
The event in Christianity where Jesus rose from the dead on the third day after his crucifixion, signifying victory over sin and death.
What is the Ascension?
The event in Christianity where Jesus ascended to heaven forty days after his resurrection, marking the completion of his earthly ministry and his exaltation at the right hand of God.
What are the beliefs of afterlife in Chrisianity?
Heaven - a state of eternal joy and communion with God
Hell - a place of eternal separation from God and punishment for unrepentant sinners
What is Sin and Salvation?
Sin - the act of violating God's commandments, leading to separation from him
Salvation - the deliverance from sin and its consequences through faith in Jesus Christ
What is the Original Sin?
The doctrine that humanity inherits a fallen nature and a tendency to sin due to Adam and Eve's disobedience in the Garden of Eden (Important in Catholicism).
What are the beliefs about Heaven and Hell?
Heaven - A state of mind or a place of eternal happiness with God
Matthew 5:3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."
Hell - A place of eternal suffering or the state of being without God
Matthew 13:50 "And cast them into the furnace of fire; there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth."
What are two ways to gain Salvation?
Salvation through good works - Having faith in God an obeying God’s law and his commandments
Salvation through grace - Given by God through faith in Jesus as a gift - Ephesian 2:8-9 "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God."
