Emperors After Augustus
Tiberius, Caligula, Claudius, and Nero - not very good; Claudius proved to be mentally unwell, while Nero started good, enjoying music and bringing improvements to Rome, but he made many enemies and left lots of civil wars after his death.
The Roman Military
The expansion of the Roman Empire was mainly through it’s well organized military. It was organized through legions and skill sets, making the army flexible. The military also had smart tactics, winning them many battles.
Reasons For Expansion
Rome expanded to control hostile neighbors from attacking, for economic purposes (for the military and agricultural projects), and for needed resources.
